Lea

Your email, looked after.

Lea is an email app for Gmail, Outlook.com, iCloud, Yahoo and any IMAP account. Your mailbox stays on your computer, search reads your attachments, and Lea's assistant sorts what's new, answers from your mail and does what you ask: she archives, flags, tags, snoozes and replies for you.

Free. On Mac now, with Apple silicon and macOS 13 or later. Windows and Linux are coming.

All your mail, in one quiet app.

Lea is a full email app before it's anything else, and the app is free.

Every account together

Gmail, Outlook.com, iCloud, Yahoo and any IMAP account, in one inbox or each on its own. Sign in to Google and Microsoft on their own pages, so Lea never sees those passwords.

Search that reads your attachments

PDFs, Word, Excel and PowerPoint files, and the text in photos and scans, all searched on your computer, in English, Chinese, Japanese and more.

Meeting invites, answered in the email

See when it is in your time zone and answer Yes, Maybe or No without leaving your inbox.

Undo for everything

Archive, move, label and trash, then take it back. A sent email waits 10, 20 or 30 seconds, your choice, before it goes.

Lea's assistant, when you want her.

She works from your own mail, on your computer. Ask in plain words and she does what you ask, and nothing you didn't.

  • Sorts new mail so the inbox opens on what matters.
    UrgentNeeds youFYINoise
  • Sums up long threads in a line, and finds the dates and deadlines in them.
  • Drafts replies that sound like you, kept as drafts for you to check and send.
  • Answers questions from your mail, with a link to the exact email and file.
  • Does the work for you. "Archive this week's newsletters", "snooze this till Monday", "tell Mia yes": she archives, flags, tags, snoozes and trashes emails, and writes your replies and forwards for you to send.
  • Asks before anything big. Everything she tidies can be undone; sending waits for you, and a send needs your Touch ID or password.
Did the bank write about my statement? Flag it, and archive this week's newsletters.
Yes: City Bank's October statement is ready, sent on 25 October. I flagged it and archived 6 newsletters.

Your mailbox stays on your computer.

Lea connects to your mail providers directly. The app needs no Lea account, and there are no ads and no tracking.

Mail and its index, here

Your email, its attachments and the search index live on your computer. Passwords and sign-ins live in its own password store, the Keychain on a Mac.

Only what Lea works on

Lea's assistant sends only the emails she works on, to answer you. Lea's server keeps none of them, and they're never used to train AI.

You stay in charge

Choose which accounts Lea's assistant reads. Every change she makes to your mail is listed, with Undo.

The details are in the privacy policy.

The same Lea, from the command line.

For people who live in a terminal and the AI agents that work for them: search, read, act and ask, with the same review queue and undo as the app.
